#One30
One30 is our approach to “resolutions.”
We’re not setting huge, beginning of the year resolutions that we fizzle out on by March.
We believe that the best way to accomplish goals is to set smaller, measurable steps that are still a challenge but in a time frame that gives us lots of opportunity for success instead of one huge opportunity that may or may not even pan out.
Here’s how it works:
1) Each “One” goal lasts for 30 days.
2) Choose something big that you would like to challenge yourself with (that’s the One).
3) Tackle the One for 30 days.
4) When you knock it out (at the end of the month), you can choose to continue doing that and add another One to your goals, or start a brand new One.
For example:
My big One30 is challenging myself to drink ONLY water for 30 days. No soft drinks, no juices, no sweet tea, etc. At the end of January I can continue that One30 and add walking for 30 minutes every day for the month of February. Or I can just start a new One30.
The catch on this is that although the time period is shorter, the challenge should still be something that is out of the ordinary and makes a big difference in your lifestyle.
Other examples:
- Doing 50 situps for 30 days.
- Cutting out sweets for 30 days.
- Cutting out processed foods for 30 days.
- Exercising with friends for 30 days.
You know, something that will be measurable and actually make a difference in your life, but something you can knock out in 30 days.
The ultimate goal is to make choices and set goals each month that will propel you forward and give you something to be excited about each month.
